Waterfall Friaren was mentioned in an earlier blog post already. It is over 270 meters high (free fall over 100 meters) and located on the south side of Geirangerfjord. It can only be seen from a boat. The rock formation in the lower part of the waterfall splits the falling water into two sub-falls which form in their middle the shape of a bottle.

The Seven Sisters waterfalls are on the opposite side of the fjord, see the photo on the linked page. The legend of both waterfalls you can also read there.

Compared to some other waterfalls in Norway which have no name this waterfall is also known as Friarfossen, Geitfossen and Skageflafossen.
